That Light
02:18
|
|||
That light couldn’t go out
That light couldn’t go out, I would know
That light couldn’t go out, I’ve been keeping it on
I’m not afraid of the dark
I’m not afraid of the dark, I would know
I’m not afraid of the dark, I’ve been trying it on
I can convince myself of anything
And I can believe that it’s true
And I pick the memories I’m living with
And they do what they do
That ship has already sailed
That ship has already sailed, I would know
That ship has already sailed, I was there when it left
That water’s under the bridge
That water’s under the bridge, I would know
That water’s under the bridge, and there’s no water left
And I can believe that it’s true
And I pick the memories I’m living with
And they do what they do
I’ll keep a spark for myself
I’ll keep a spark for myself, so I know
I’ll keep a spark for myself, it’s a part of me now
That light couldn’t go out
That light couldn’t go out, I would know
That light couldn’t go out, I’ve been keeping it on

Totally Confused
02:48
|
|||
totally confused
by you
totally confused
by you
ten foot man
making my lunch
never understand
I want you so much
and I never ever want it
and I never ever want it
totally confused
by you
totally confused
by you
screaming in my face
whisper in my ear
put me in a suitcase
with a can of beer
and I never ever want it
and I never ever want it

Bad Penny
02:43
|
|||
There in my pocket with my loose change
Is something like a penny you don’t even use
Look at me, all wound up over loose ends
A thing this heavy shouldn’t be easy to lose
What’s the point in keeping all these keys on
The keyring when the door itself is long gone
And so I lose anything thing to lean on
Forgetting all the lyrics to an old song
There under my eyelids when I’m waking up
It takes a couple seconds to come back to mind
But like a bad penny, always turning up,
A thing so poorly hidden is easy to find
What’s the point in keeping all these keys on
The keyring when the door itself is long gone
An empty doorway isn’t much to lean on
A ring without a finger is a sung song
There I go again, I’m getting out of hand
And spiraling, these metaphors don’t help at all
A spiral’s just a stack of circles like a band
Or keyring when it doesn’t hold a key at all
What’s the point in looking for connection?
we’re moving in an opposite direction
And so I’ll settle into introspection
And call it something other than rejection
What’s the point in keeping all these keys on
What’s the point in keeping all these keys

Ghoster

|

I don’t love you
But it’d love to
Who knows, instead
Who’s left on read?
Left a trace of who you are
You’re just a face, a house, a car
But fading fast, just like a dream
By afternoon, it’s never been
I thought we had
A bit of fun
Thought that was a
Shared opinion
All your needs, just stay here
Some say some don’t disappear
But most fade fast, just like a dream
By afternoon, it’s never been

On the way out
Lock the back door
Nobody needs to know
That some people
Lived here before
Nobody saw them go
I can’t drive down
That block anymore
Craning my neck to see
What they’ve got on the porch
Those chairs look like the ones we had
When you log out
I’ll see you around
This place is only small
Thought of trying
Some other town
Would make no change at all
I couldn’t say
What I’m hoping for
Can’t translate
What made sense before
How would I know if I was right?
I still recall the final night
The empty rooms, overhead light
The dog beside me
On your way
On your way out
There’s no way
There’s no way back home
